Indie food bike tour itinerary

March 7, 2011

Ok, for those of you coming, or just generally interested, here’s a rough itinerary for tomorrows indie food tour of Birmingham (mainly south). There’s a group going buy bus too, as well as those going by bike.

Start at 9am  – 6/8 Kafe on Temple Row, City Centre, for a coffee.

Check out Anderson and Hill, the Bread Collection, and the bullring markets

Cycle to Moseley (possibly go via The Grocer @ Edgbaston and/or the Lebanese bakery in Balsall Heath), check out Nima Deli, Mayson Mayci, Indigo Wholefoods.

Cycle to Kings Heath, check out an asian grocery (there’s 3 to choose from), Mayson Mayci, Thyme Out, Johnstans butchers, Kitchen Garden, Capeling & Co. Possible late lunch at Soul Food Project?

A couple of students from BCU are gonna do a route from Harborne to Kings Heath during the day too, so between us we should cover much of South Birmingham.

Anyone remaining in the late afternoon is welcome to come to my place in Cotteridge to cook up some of the stuff we’ve bought for dinner, and of course, it must include pancakes! If you’re coming tweet me @loafonline to let me know on which part of the journey you’d like to join us,

We need a hashtag – #indiefoodbrum ???

Tom.
